“A New Holiday Tradition…”
By K. Ross
Now that Turkey day is over…How was your Thanksgiving?! I hope it was full of good food, loud laughs, and little bit of leftover pie for breakfast! LOL. And for me…stretchy pants! This is the true beginning of the holiday season. There is something about this time of year that makes you want to hold on just a little tighter to the people you love and the traditions that bring you together.
This brings to this week’s blog…traditions! The holidays have always been about family for me. And a couple of years ago, a new family tradition was born…totally by accident! It all started when my boys and I attended my cousin’s December wedding in Charlottesville, VA. We stayed at the Boar’s Head Resort…WOW!! While exploring the beautiful resort, we noticed some bright lights our first night. What were these lights…we had to find out! Well, we did…it was a little something called WINTER WANDER! We were instantly pulled in and just like that…our new holiday tradition began.
There is something about this place that makes you feel like you’re inside a giant snow globe. The walking trail is lined with thousands of twinkling lights, holiday music, and that winter crisp that makes you run for the hot chocolate! After we grab the hot coco to warm up, we head over to our “new favorite” spot…the glowing tunnel of lights. (bring your phone…it’s selfie time!). Now I am not a fan of the “selfie,” but my boys and I decided to have a little fun with this. Our selfie’s have become the tradition. And now we share with them with our family and friends!
Winter Wander isn’t just about the lights…it’s a reminder to slow down and enjoy the moment. (Remember from the last blog…don’t stress, just enjoy!). So, whether you’re starting a new tradition or just looking for something different to do this holiday season…head on over to Boar’s Head and let’s wander around the Winter Wander.
Grab your scarf, your phone and make some holiday memories!
