Must-sees & Must-dos…
By K. Ross
Okay everyone…I NEED YOUR HELP!! Guess what?! I have been given the most AMAZING opportunity to travel to Tokyo next month! TOKYO!! Can you even believe it?! Me either! I am excited, nervous, curious and already wondering how many pairs of stretchy pants I should pack! LOL.
First of all, 14 HOURS ON A PLANE?! Lord, help me now. I can barely sit through a two-hour movie without needing a snack, a walk, and probably a nap! So, before I even get there, I need all the travel tips from my seasoned travelers out there. How do you survive a flight that long without looking and feeling like a zombie when you land?! Do I need one of those neck pillows everyone walks around with at the airport? Compression socks? Sleeping pills? An IV of coffee?! HELP!
And let’s talk about Tokyo for a second. From everything I have seen, it looks incredible. The lights, the culture, the food, the shopping…it feels like stepping into another world. Honestly, I think I may spend the first two days just standing there saying “WOW” every five minutes!
So now I need recommendations! Tell me ALL the things I should see and do. What are the “must-see” spots? Where is the best food? And listen…you already know I love a good moment and a good memory, so if there are beautiful places for pictures…send them my way! I want the full experience. The hidden gems…the local favorites…the places that make you stop and soak it all in.
I have heard the city is this beautiful mix of peaceful traditions and fast-moving energy. One minute you’re visiting a quiet temple…and the next minute you’re surrounded by bright lights and people everywhere. That honestly sounds kind of magical to me.
And can we discuss the food?! I already know I am going to eat my way through Tokyo. Sushi, ramen, dumplings…yes please!! I may come home needing sweatpants and a diet…but it will totally be worth it! LOL.
More than anything, I think this trip is reminding me how important it is to say YES to new experiences. Sometimes life gives you opportunities that push you outside your comfort zone a little bit…and maybe that’s where the best memories happen.
So, I’m officially asking for your help! Drop your travel tips, Tokyo favorites, packing must-haves, and plane ride survival tricks my way. I need ALL the advice I can get before this adventure begins!
Tokyo…I’ll see you soon!!
