Moving soon…send HELP!

Alright all you readers out there, I need your help again! You have all been SO helpful in the past with your recommendations, suggestions, and “you HAVE to try this” advice, so I’m coming to you with another one. I’M MOVING! And before everyone starts panicking for me…don’t worry, I’m not moving tomorrow! LOL. I’m still a couple of months away, but I figured I better start planning now before I’m surrounded by boxes wondering where my life went!

Moving is one of those things that sounds easy enough…until you actually start thinking about everything that goes along with it. Packing, organizing, deciding what needs to go, what needs to be donated, what needs to be thrown away, and then somehow getting ALL of it from one house to another. Did I mention I’m already tired just thinking about it?!

So, this is where you come in! I need ALL your moving tips and suggestions. What did you do that made moving easier? What do you wish someone had told you before you started? Is there a certain way you packed that saved you time? A certain room you tackled first? And most importantly…what should I absolutely NOT do?! Because I have a feeling there are some lessons that are better learned from someone else’s experience than my own! LOL.

And let’s talk about movers. If you have used a moving company that you absolutely loved, PLEASE send me their information! I’m looking for recommendations from people who have actually used them. Were they on time? Careful with your furniture? Did they make the whole process less stressful? And, of course, did the final bill look anything like the original estimate?! Because that is one area I definitely don’t want any surprises!

I’m also looking for those little tricks that make a big difference. What do you keep with you instead of putting on the moving truck? What should I pack first? What should I leave until the very end? And is there some magical packing supply that I don’t know about yet that is going to completely change my moving experience?! Bubble wrap? Labels? Special boxes? I’m listening!

Since I’m just starting to plan, I’m hoping to gather as much advice as I can now so I can actually be organized when the time comes. Notice I said “organized”…whether or not that actually happens is a whole different story! LOL.

So, readers, I’m counting on you again! If you have moved recently, have a great mover to recommend, or simply have a tried-and-true moving tip that made your life easier, PLEASE share it with me. I want to hear it all…the good, the bad, and the “NEVER DO THIS!” advice!
