Your turn, Let’s hear your suggestions…

Your turn, Let’s hear your suggestions…

By K. Ross

Before we officially kick off spring events and outdoor fun, I want to do something a little different with today’s blog — I want to hear from you! Think of this as an interactive, crowd-sourced planning session where we all help each other out.

About once a year, I meet up with my best friend for a much-needed girl’s weekend. She lives in Philadelphia, I’m in Richmond, and we usually pick a spot somewhere in the middle so neither of us has to do all the driving. It’s become one of my favorite traditions — a weekend to unplug, catch up, eat really good food, do a little shopping, and just enjoy being together without the everyday responsibilities.

Over the years, we’ve hit some great spots. Alexandria? Loved it. National Harbor? So fun (and great people-watching!). Georgetown? Always a win with the shopping, restaurants, and waterfront strolls. Each trip has had its own vibe, but now… we’re meeting again in just a couple of weeks and we’re officially stuck on where to go next.

So, before I start highlighting spring festivals, outdoor adventures, and family outings, I want to turn the mic over to you.

Where should two best friends go for a girl’s weekend that’s roughly halfway between Richmond and Philly?

We’re looking for:

  • A walkable area (bonus points if we can park the car and forget about it 🚶‍♀️)
  • Cute shops, boutiques, or local markets
  • Great food — brunch spots are a MUST
  • A fun atmosphere but still relaxing
  • Maybe a spa, winery, waterfront, or charming downtown

It can be a bigger city, a small town, or even a hidden gem you stumbled upon and fell in love with. Have you done a girl’s trip somewhere and thought, “Yep, this is the spot”? Or is there a place you’ve been dying to visit but haven’t made it too yet?

I know there are so many amazing places in Virginia, Maryland, D.C., and Pennsylvania that don’t always get the spotlight, and I’d love to hear your recommendations. Drop your suggestions, favorite hotels, must-eat restaurants, or even activities we shouldn’t miss. Help us plan our next weekend of laughter, late nights, and memory-making.

I can’t wait to read your ideas — and who knows, your recommendation might just turn into a future blog post

Let’s hear it… where should our next girl’s weekend be?
