Quiche for Everyone!

“Quiche for Everyone!”

By K. Ross

Greetings everyone…this week I wanted to do something a little different and share a recipe with you.  Whether you are hosting a brunch or meal prepping breakfast or lunch for the week, this recipe will quickly be added to your “go-to’s!”  Who doesn’t love a good quiche…I guess people who are vegan or who are allegoric to eggs. LOL  I apologize now to those people, but for the people who love eggs and quiche…this is for you!

There are so many things you can add to recipe, but first let me start with the base recipe then we can get all the ways you can play with around it!  One more thing to add before I start with the base…this is crustless quiche recipe. So, whether you are on a diet or just trying to eat a little healthier, this will soon be your fav!

Alright, now we can start with the base…

(this yields one 1 quiche, 6 servings)

1 cup ricotta cheese

3 eggs

½ cup milk

½ teaspoon of garlic powder

½ teaspoon of onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven 375 degrees.

Whisk all ingredients in a mixing bowl until smooth.

Grease 9-inch pie dish.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top.

Let it cool for a few minutest…then it’s time slice and enjoy!

So, now that you have you the base recipe, let me share some ways to “spruce it up!”

After the step where it has you whisk all the ingredients together, this is your que to start adding the following suggestions or to start your creation!

You can always go with the basic by adding some bacon and cheese…you can never go wrong with this one.  When I first started making this, I wanted to keep it vegetarian, so I went with sauteed mushrooms, spinach, and artichokes.  I will give a little hint about when trying this one, since these veggies hold a lot of moisture, try and drain as much as liquid as much as you can before you stir into the quiche mixture.  You’ll thank me for this!

Now for my non-vegetarian lovers, let’s try this one. I added some cooked Italian sausage, sun dried tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, onions, and peppers. Well maybe this one is a little more vegetarian than meat lovers, but the sausage mixed with vegetables…YUM!!  For a seafood substitute…add some crabmeat or some cooked shrimp to this recipe. You’ll be sure to dazzle your next brunch guests!

I love sharing recipes that give you a good base, but also allows room for your creativity.  So let me know what you add to yours and we can share it with everyone!  I’m really looking forward to hearing what you come up with! Happy cooking/baking!
