All Hallow-Screams!

“All Hallow-Screams!”

By K. Ross

Happy Fall everyone!  I was thinking of doing a more traditional Halloween blog for you all…but what fun is that?!  As the thunder bangs in a distance and the lightening brightens my house, I felt inspired to share a haunting experience happening in Richmond this Halloween.  Well, not exactly in Richmond, just a little north to Ashland.  You may have been already, or maybe you’ve seen a sign or heard it from a friend, but we’re taking a trip to Red Vein.

Now, if you’re like me…a Halloween, fright fest fanatic, you will love this place.  If you’re not, it’s ok, no judgement (LOL)!  They do offer a “no-scream” event on Thursday evenings during the “haunting” season.  Since the “haunting” season is a personal favorite of mine, I wanted to share as much as information as I can with you.  So, I sacrificed a lot of time for everyone and went to both events, the “no-scream” and ‘scream” night.  (just kidding…no time was sacrificed; I enjoyed every minute of it!)

Let’s start off easy and talk about the “no scream” night.  I was expecting this to be a little boring, but I was soooo wrong.  This walk-through tour was engaging from the first step.  This tour allows you to walk around without the “scares.”  You really get a good behind the scenes look at what it takes to put this together.  You can engage with the actors, ask questions, and really just pay attention to the details that go into this amazing production.  Even if you’re not a Halloween lover, this “no scream” tour will leave you “haunting” more! LOL

Alright, now is the time for all my Halloween, fright fest lovers…the “SCREAM” tour!!  Sorry, but no details will be revealed.  I can’t ruin it for you!!  Just take my word for it…I have never been more scared or screamed so loud in my life!  I’ve been so many Halloween scare events in the past…even saw the Jersey Devil.  This event didn’t even compare.  I’m still having nightmares since that night…haha just kidding!  But really…it is that good!  I will give a little suggestion when going to “scream” night…go everywhere!  The Asylum, the Corn, the Woods, and the House…do it all!

And now it’s time for PSA announcement…this is not suitable for younger children! Obviously! But I do encourage you to buy tickets before you head over to Ashland.  This place gets busy.  All details and ticket purchases can be found at redveinhunt.com. The tag line on their website says it all…” Where Virginia Goes for Horror!”  Happy Haunting everyone!
